TVL TRACK IS A GREAT OPTION
SUSAN R. ABRILLA
When I was in the Academe ten years ago, trainees believe it or not were degree holders and professional’s teachers, nurses, dentists and even engineers. They took Technical-Vocational training to be able to qualify for work abroad. They have to gain National Certification required for employment especially overseas. Although to some it is a stepping stone to be with their family but most of them wanted to be a permanent resident after two to five year s.
I learned from a friend that most of our students are very successful in their careers abroad. I can vividly remember a few especially those who has a stable job saying it was never their dream or goals to work in other countries but their salary is not sufficient to meet the needs of the family especially the education of their children. Working abroad is a great opportunity to be able to augment family income and send children to a better school to acquire quality education.
Nowadays we have ample career opportunities local and abroad requiring National Certification from TESDA, a requirement for employment.
There’s a huge figures of In- Demand Jobs for skilled workers in Japan, New Zealand, United Kingdom and Middle East.
For this reason, TVL is indeed a great option. TESDA courses are integrated as specialized subjects in the TVL track, so students while in senior high can obtain the requisite COCs (Certificate of Competency) and NCs (National Certification) that will give them a better chance for future employment.
Students whose goal is work abroad TVL is the right track. Indeed, it is a veracity that we have to accept that we need skills preferably certified by TESDA. Even college graduates need such skills in order to be gainfully empl oyed.
