PPCRV names AMA Education System anew as IT partner for 2019 polls

-

The Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPRCV) recently named AMA Education System (AMAES) as its official information technology (IT)partner for the 2019 Philippine Mid-Term Elections. The announcement is a renewal of ties between the two organizations having previously sealed a partnership over the last three elections.

The poll watchdog welcomes the partnership anew and stresses the importance of educational institutions being a part of ensuring a clean and honest electoral process as they play an integral role in helping shape the minds of today’s youth.

“We are delighted to again partner with AMAES in fulfilling our mandate as the citizens arm for responsible for voter education, poll watching, and parallel quick count. By working with their network of schools, we are able to interact with students and help inform and share with them the importance of the electoral process and why we as citizens should ensure its integrity,” said Myla Villanueva, Chairperson of the PPCRV.

As information technology partner, AMAES will be providing desktop computers to be used for the parallel quick count. Video conferencing facilities at their different campuses and software used for the school’s Blended Learning program will also be sharedfor volunteer training and communication between PPCRV’s operations across the country. Teachers and student volunteers will also help in poll watching and incident reporting.

“The volunteer force, equipment, and facilities from AMAES greatly helps in speeding up the work and extend PPCRV’s capability to cover different areas before SUBIC BAY FREEPORT – The Philippine Long Distance Company Subic (PLDT Subic) has turned over seven new police outposts to the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) as part of their company’s contribution to promote safety and security in this Freeport.

PLDT Subictel Chairman Eric Alberto formally presented the donation to SBMA Chairman and Administrator Wilma T. Eisma after unveiling an outpost located on Rizal Highway corner Aguinaldo St. near the Subic main gate recently.

The seven outposts, which cost more than P1million, sported a brandnew look with its bold black theme and vibrant SBMA emergency hotlines painted on walls.

Four new outposts are located at Subic’s Central Business District: Rizal Highway corner Argonaut Highway; Rizal Highway corner Burgos Street; Rizal Highway corner Aguinaldo Street; and Rizal Highway corner Manila Avenue.

Three others are at the Binictican housing area: one at the Binictican main sentry station; one more at the sentry near Pamulaklakin Village; and the third at the sentry gate going to El Kabayo.

PLDT Subictel officials said this corporate social responsibility (CSR) project includes the repair and repainting of the existing security outpost at the Kalayaan main sentry
