JOYCE P. JIMENEZ
Discipline means total obedience to specific rules and regulations that remind us of the proper code of behavior. It is essential for the progress of society and the growth of one’s personality as well as discipline in school for students. Since student life is a time of learning and grooming, a student needs to be profound, devoted, solid and focused to his goals.
The major task of a student is to study. A student should be very committed and sincere to his studies. He should be very prompt and he should know the essence of time when it comes to doing homework and learning new things. He should have respect for authorities and he should be very cooperative with his friends. Moreover, student needs to be very punctual to his drill. He should be hard working and always be prepared and active in different extracurricular activities. A student should continue to be smart to learn how to face difficult situations and how to win over them.
Students have a soft mind that does not know what is right or wrong so they need persistent guidance and supervision from teachers otherwise, he can go towards the wrong direction. Discipline plays significant role in shaping student’s personality and molding his character. Every one can’t be well learned without discipline. Without learning and following discipline in school life can cost students later in their career. A student is the future of the country. He is the one who has to take the responsibility of country’s future.
Discipline is self-improvement practice. It is what aids us all to achieve our goals in life. Discipline requires self-control and dedication. One who cannot control himself cannot control others. He has to dedicate his peculiarity in the larger interest of society. Discipline is righteousness. It needs to be cultured from early childhood. It cannot be developed over a day. It takes time and needs patience. When discipline is imposed, it fails to bring the desired result. True importance of discipline is lost when it is enforced. The man becomes more a machine and less of a human b ei n g.
