TEACHERS PROTECTION BILL

Sun.Star Pampanga - - PERSPECTIVE! -

CAMILE D. TOBIAS

Teachers have a very important responsibility in shaping the lives of their students. In some instances teachers sometimes encounter some untoward incidents in their teaching careers in terms of disciplining their students, and the lack of institutional support from the institution. Because of these reasons students nowadays lacks discipline. While the Child Protection Policy aims to protect children from child abuse, the law also became a burden for teachers in instilling discipline to them.

The Teacher Protection Bill will help teachers and the institution to have a better workplace. With the help of this bill teachers can discipline students without abusing them, of course, and without being intimidated of the Child Protection Policy. This Bill will also help schools to be more organized by having a student manual or code of discipline for students to follow and support personnel to attain a better environment inside the school. Training and professional development for teachers and personnel about discipline of students and about this bill is a great idea to refresh the way of classroom management and discipline for students.
