TAKE TIME TO TEACH: REDUCE PAPERWORKS

- CZARINA L. GOMEZ

The role of a teacher is to conduct classroom instruction and activities that would help students learn, master and apply concepts in the different learning areas such English, Math and Science.

Many in the teaching profession are very passionate on their teaching experience yet having trouble on the amount of paper works that they need to prepare and comply with every now and then.

They say that preparing of reports and documentations must be paperless. However, instead of applying this, teachers have observed and experienced being drowned with numerous number of paperworks that greatly affect the good intention of preparing these, and that is to help teachers improve their teaching.

Indeed, the amount of paper work teachers face seems to be a growing concern in education.

Instead of concentrating on the teaching-learning process, which should be the greatest concern of teachers, they become enthralled with paperworks that are sometimes not even concerning to teaching. Thus, this scenario greatly affect the quality of teaching being given to our students since teachers are crowded with this intruder…PAPERWORK.

Talking to group of teachers about the overwhelming mountain of paperwork that comes our way, they all reacted and gave as many reasons they have in mind how paperworks intrude their lives even their precious time with the family is being sacrificed.

In reality, paperworks are really part of our educational system. We can’t go away with these. Proper time management and priority should be determined. First things first! Do not be engross with these numerous paperwork’s. Be focus on the most important thing, and that is our “soul mission” – teaching students to the best that we can.
