Barbie Imperial on JM De Guzman: ‘Gusto ko pareho kaming healed bago kami mag-work ulit together’

Barbie Imperial is happy to be part of the upcoming Regal Films romance Finding You which also stars Jerome Ponce and Jane Oineza. “Of course I feel so blessed kasi dapat cameo lang ako dito and then na-extend yung character ko so happy ako na nagustuhan nila yung chemistry namin ni Jerome,” she said during the Finding You Grand Media Con held last May 16.

With things still patchy between her and former Araw Gabi co-star JM De Guzman, Barbie Imperial admitted it might take a while before they end up working together again on the same set. The popular onscreen couple were actually supposed to star in another project together which will have to be postponed indefinitely for now. “Dapat meron kaming gagawin kay ate Ara Mina, kasi parang gusto mag-produce ni kuya Patrick Meneses ng movie for me and JM pero sinabi ko na hindi pa time. Sinabi ko rin feeling ko maiistorbo namin yung makakatrabaho namin kung hindi pa kami okay sa isa’t isa. So ako mas pipiliin ko na wait lang muna, huwag natin mamamdaliin. Ayoko ng makadamay ng ibang tao and gusto ko na pareho kaming healed na bago kami mag-work ulit together,” Barbie shared.

With the issue between them still unsettled, Barbie hopes the hype surrounding it will eventually die down. Although she clarified that JM never led her on at any point during their close friendship. She said she is also not expecting an apology from him anytime soon. “No, hindi talaga. Clear naman siya na hindi. Pero I respect that naman kasi alam ko naman din na si JM kilala niya ako. Ayoko nung binibigla ako ng, ‘Forgive me, ganun, ganun.’ Ayoko ng ganun. Gusto ko makalimot muna ako tapos saka tayo magusap,” she said.
