School Canteen: Its Significance on the Learning of Students

Students go to school to learn the necessary the competencies they need to live in this world. Prior to their journey to the school, they prepare themselves physically, mentally, emotionally before they embark on a learning adventure. However, there are students who go to the school without anything in their stomach and school canteen is their option to address their hunger or physical needs.

School canteen plays a significant role in the learning of the students. The brain will not function well if there is no enough nutrients to support the body. School canteens are the ones that are tasked to provide nutritious food to the students for them to continuously enjoy their learning in the school especially during their break time. There is a need for the students to refuel their body through the foods that they will eat.

In addition, canteen also serves as laboratory especially for the TLE classes. It is a place where the students can cook and prepare meals when the topic is about cooking or food preparation. Furthermore, they may experience entrepreneurship when they are given the chance to sell foods and different items.
