Reflecting on the past year

-

HOW’S 2020 so far? Have you gone back to “normal” yet? It’s always difficult when the holiday season ends because it is always fun and relaxing being able to celebrate Christmas and New Year with family and friends! There are numerous opportunities to bond and catch up with people who mean a lot to us and the memories we get from all these are

truly precious!

But, back to reality! That’s the way with us, adults, we can only hope there will be more holidays to plan for! Honestly, I always get the blues when vacations end. It’s sad. Then again we have to get back in the rat race because there are bills to pay!

New Year’s resolutions are good for guidance, I believe. Even if we hardly ever achieve all what we resolve to do, it is still nice to realize what is lacking and what we need to change in ourselves to become a better person. It may have been a running joke as we welcome each new year but we do know that they are borne out of recognizing our faults and failures.

There is really nothing wrong with putting in the effort to be better. In its simplest form, it’s a sign of self-love and that is really important to foster within us! It is important to take care of ourselves first! It gives us self-confidence and a more positive outlook in life. The modern world demands so much from us and sometimes we forget to treat ourselves right. We become too driven to excel and make something of ourselves that everything

that concerning our own good unknowingly becomes second fiddle.

Reflecting on the past year and trying to figure out how we can use its lessons in the coming year is definitely a good way to prepare for future challenges. Our lives will always have low points no matter how we try to keep it on the up side. It is up to us to see these in a positive light and use it as our personal armor against life’s storms rather than weapons that can take us down.

2020 has began and there’s a lot of time left to make this year more memorable than last year. Let’s keep in mind that the change should begin from within because when we feel good about ourselves that’s when we can really be a blessing to others!
