San Fernando lays out strategies for efficient policiesan­d programs

CITY OF SAN FERNANDOSa­n Fernando Task Force against COVID-19 response clusters convened on Friday to ensure the efficient and effective implementa­tion of standards of care, infection prevention and control procedures for the contagion in the city.

The Task Force is taking the lead in all the related situations and concerns on COVID-19 disease, and closely coordinate­s with the Department of Health-Center for Health Developmen­t. Thus, they are enjoined to further strategize and form policies, projects programs, and resources to sustain the city’s fight against the virus especially that the city is now placed under the modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ).

The local government unit (LGU) through the different Task Force had already conducted house-to-house mapping, installed two central screening facilities; establishe­d DOH accredited isolation facilities; put up hand washing stations in major public markets and border control checkpoint­s; and partnered with a private hospital for a COVID-19 testing laboratory.

The city had also strengthen­ed its economic and social aspect thru its urban gardening program, mobile palengke and online talipapa, social pension pay-out (SOCPEN), food and non-food assistance, and other initiative­s aimed for the health and well-being of Fer nandi nos.
