Bataan reports 1 new coronavirus death, 3 recoveries

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – A 50-year-old man from Dinalupihan town became the ninth fatality from the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) in this pr ovi nce.

In its report Saturday night, the Provincial Health Office (PHO) said the victim was swabbed last May 27 and died in confinement.

With said patient testing positive, the PHO said the number of confirmed Covid19 cases in the province rose to 151.

Meanwhile, the PHO reported that a 17-day-old boy was among the three who newly-recovered from the dreaded disease with the total number of recoveries reaching 137.

The other two are a 35-year-old health worker from this city and a 34-year-old woman from Mor ong.

Out of the 2,593 who underwent Covid-19 tests, 151 were confirmed, 2,217 have tested negative and 225 are still waiting for the results of their laboratory examination.

Meanwhile, provincial information officer Angel Luis Lara on Saturday announced that the province would be under general community quarantine starting Monday. (PNA)
