-

SAN LUIS - "When it rains, it pours."

This was how Mayor Jayson Sagum described their current situation in town before he delivered the news of the third coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infection to his constituents.

In just one week, the municipality consecutively recorded all its Covid-19 confirmed cases which now totals to three.

It could be remembered that San Luis was free from Covid-19 for over two months during the stretch of lockdown period until it reported its first infection on May 28.

Sagum said the third infection is asymptomatic but was initially considered a probable patient after he tested positive on rapid anti-body test.

"The 22-year-old patient was confirmed to have contracted the disease through the swab testing conducted by

Department of Health which result also turned out positive," Sagum sai d.

The mayor assured that thorough contacttracing, disinfection and isolation of the patient's family is already being conducted to prevent the spread of disease.

"We have a comprehensive Covid-19 response plan to ensure the containment of virus. There's nothing to worry for our kabalens we are ready for this kind of situation," Sagum said.

He also asked for his constituents' cooperation in suppressing the highlycontagious disease by abiding by all health and safety protocols, particularly wearing of mask, and practice of physical distancing and proper hygiene.
