2 killed in drug bust; over P200-M shabu seized

-

ANTI-NARCOTICS operatives killed two drug personalities in a drug bust operation and yielded over P240 million worth of suspected shabu on Saturday, June 7, in Parañaque City.

Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group (PNP-DEG) director Brigadier General Romeo Caramat identified the drug suspects as Jin Long Cai and Danny Apiga.

He said the two tried to escape when they sensed that they were dealing with policemen during an operation in a mall along Diosdado Macapagal Boulevard around 4:30 p.m., Saturday.

The suspects shoot it out with the policemen during the chase and resulted in their death. They were both declared dead on arrival.

Seized from the suspects’vehicle were 36 large packs of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) wrapped foil pack with Mandarin markings weighing more or less 36 kilograms and two caliber .45 pistols.

The seized drugs have an estimated street value of P244.8 million.

The operation was led by PNP-DEG together with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

On Wednesday, the PDEA operatives arrested Samson Tan, who was tagged as one of the biggest shabu manufacturers in the country.

Over P7 million worth of illegal drugs were recovered from him.

On Thursday, elements of the DEG recovered over 800 kilograms of shabu worth more than P5billion in a residential house turned warehouse in Barangay Lias in Marilao Bulacan.

Three persons, including a Chinese national and two Filipino women, were arrested during the said oper at i on.

President Rodrigo Duterte has earlier commended the anti-narcotics operatives.

He warned drug peddlers over the continuously rampant illegal drug activities in the country despite the government’s drug war.

“If you destroy my country distributing P5.1 billion of shabu all throughout the country, I will kill you. I will kill you,” Duterte said.
