Construction of NLEX Sto. Tomas interchange starts soon
STO. TOMAS - The dream of having its own North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) interchange in this town is slowly turning into reality after the approval for construction of the tollway management.
This was relayed recently by fourth district Representative Juan Pablo "Rimpy" Bondoc who is the main proponent of the project which proposed in 2016 along with then-mayor Johnny Sambo.
Bondoc said the forthcoming construction of the NLEX interchange in Barangay Sto. Rosario Pau here will boost the Pampanga Circumferential Road project which aim is to connect Pampanga's fourth district to the first, second and third district.
"We are creating a bypass road project that will connect Lubao and Guagua going to Sto. Tomas and Minalin all the way to Macabebe and Masantol. With the opening of NLEX Sto. Tomas interchange, Kapampangans can also easily travel to Mexico, Angeles and Mabalacat cities all the way to the north," he said.
Once completed, the solon said it will help in further stimulating the economy in the province, especially since it was affected by the Covid19
pandemic.
He stressed that the road project will help in realizing the dream of creating business districts and export zones in different areas of the province, especially fourth district.
"This will create a ripple effect in the economy and livelihood of Kapampangans as it will generate thousands of employment not only for Kapampangans but for residents of nearby towns," he sai d.
