Drug bust in Nueva Ecija results in armed encounter; arrest of 4 suspects

GAPAN CITY, Nueva Ecija --- The Philippine Drug enforcement Agency (PDEA) Nueva Ecija Provincial Office, with its police partners from San Jose City Police Station, Gapan CPS and Plaridel Police Station DEU, conducted a sting operation at 2:00 AM on Saturday, July 4, 2020 at Purok 7, Barangay Sto. Cristo Sur, Gapan City, Nueva Ecija.

In a report submitted to the PDEA Director General Wilkins M. Villanueva, PDEA -3 Chief Christian O. Frivaldo stated that this buy bust operation that ensued in exchanges of fire between the antidrug operatives and the suspects, resulted in the death of one of the suspects identified as Eduardo Doroteo y De Guzman alias “Udi,” 50, single, self-employed.

Other drug suspects arrested by operatives were identified as Ferdinand Doroteo y De Guzman, 37, single, selfemployed, resident of

Bar angay Ru ed a, Plaridel, Bulacan; Daisy San Diego y Adato, 36, married, vendor, resident of Pandi, Bulacan; 3. Lino Dela Cruz y Angeles, 51, single, tricycle driver, resident of Look 1st , Malolos Bulacan; and Joel Sunga y Flores, 45, married, self-employed, resident of Umangan, Aliaga.

Confiscated from the suspects were estimated 10 grams of suspected shabu with appraised at Php 68,000; and six FCC of 9mm and two (2) FCC of cal. 45 w/ serial number 2453893.

Charges for violation of Sections 5 (sale) , 11 (possession), and 15 (use), of Article II, Republic Act No. 9165 are being prepared for filing in court.
