A Beautiful Life in the Midst of Pandemic

-

First of all, let me have this disclaimer regarding my article title “A Beautiful Life in the Midst of Pandemic”. I fully agree and acknowledge the fact that in these trying times when COVID-19 cases have been increasing, we have people who are mourning the death of their loved ones. We have people who lost and will lose their jobs. We have people who suffer in extreme hunger. We have people who are day and night worried because of the uncertainties of the times. I am fully aware of that. While I am a DepEd employee, a government employee, who is ‘at the moment’ secured of my monthly pay (I don’t know how long the government can ensure that), I join the prayers and hopes of our people that this pandemic be put to an end. I also do my own little ways to be of service to others especially the needy and the most vulnerable in the society.

With my article title expressing a beautiful life in the midst of pandemic, I only try to see and would like you also to see that despite these trying situations, there is still an Almighty God who protects us and gives us opportunities to really see the beauty and wonders of His creation in the eyes of our loved ones, in the eyes of other people. Despite the pandemic, we can still proudly say that God has been very generous to us and His blessings are countless. Our life, our family and friends whom most of us communicate with nowadays via online platforms, our colleagues, and all the people who inspire us to still be optimistic, they all let us continue our lives and see the beauty that resides in it.

We now have more time with our family. Before, we were just wishing for some holidays so we can spend a little time with our family members. Now, we have lots of it. So we have to make the most out of it. We also have more time to talk to ourselves and reflect about the lives that we live. We can talk more to God and pray and do little sacrifices for others who are in need. These are opportunities that this pandemic has been offering to us. We are all worried because of the uncertainties of the times, but life shall go on. We are not dead. We are alive. We have to continue seeing and appreciating that in the end, there is still a beautiful life in the midst of this pandemic.
