Teaching and Butterflies

-

The wonder of teaching is watching caterpillars become butterflies. Each day, you see different personalities. Each so unique from the others, yet they all needed one thing…..that is guidance from a teacher.

Teaching in the Junior High School is tough. You need to teach the mind but you need to touch every student soul as well. With the latest news about Teenage suicide, teachers are alarmed about it.

Seminars about how to solve suicidal attempts among teenagers is among the priorities being address.

Indeed teaching is a job that calls for multi-task. We do not teach only the learning competencies but we teach students how to cope with life. Admittedly, we tend to be too attached to them that we wanted to be involved in their lives.

W e need to be their constant reminder to let them see their potential to become successful individuals in the near future. We are always ready to set other things to sit with them and hear their fears, their dreams and plans for their future.

We make sure that we are among their positive learning rather that distractions. We make sure that they will love themselves by showing them we do appreciate everything in them no matter how their situation is.

We are always their silent cheerer in the background every time they achieve something like winning a school contest or simply being one among the class top achievers. We are always ready to become a friend, a sister or a parent who would love to hear their youth voices whether about their fears or their sadness or triumphs.

We see in them , caterpillars who needed proper nourishment to become the most beautiful butterfly in sight. We wish them good farewell and have safe travel towards their next journey in life.
