TEACHERS AND EAGLES

Jomar T. Pineda

-

“When a storm is coming, all other birds seek shelter. The eagle alone avoids the storm by flying above it. So, in the storms of life may your heart be like an eagle's and soar above.” Teachers and students are like Eagles in Flight. They both needed each other to make the flight called Teaching-Process a success.

They both needed the strength of each other to make learning a success. But before achieving this, they need to practice mutual learning. They must accept that together, they will make the puzzle complete that is quality education.

When a teacher sees her/his students achieving something positive, they feel they are making the journey quite a success. We do not choose our students and vice versa. Agreement to make positive encounters, rules must be set and agreed upon on the onset of every school year.

Students must feel that they need not to be perfect but should possess attitudes of willingness, perseverance to be one among the eagles that are willing to achieve the ladder of success no matter what the situation is.

Teachers serves as their guiding light when there seems to be rough roads ahead of them, in the same way, students must be their teachers’ source of strength for they too have their own battles in life.

Teaching-process should always be a mutual agreement to make every encounters an opportunity to learn something new that maybe great weapons in the next flight together with other eagles. Encouragement and trust should be the heart of the entire educational encounters.
