Amidst Pandemic, Learning Continuous

As the Department of Education embraces the new normal, to deliver the basic education among its clientele, location, time and space must not be hindrances to teaching and learning. As a matter of fact, Pampanga High School (PHS) launched the Parents orientation recently. This is to inform parents on the guidelines of the so-called “remote enrollment” Parents just needed to coordinate with the previous adviser of their children regarding this.

Moreso, other schools are also exhausting all the means to give the best education to the youth of today. Different strategies in teaching will be implemented to assure the education of the students. One of these is the alternative learning modality which includes “face to face”, blended learning and distance learning.

With the goal of the City Division of San Fernando, “Para sa bata at Para sa bayan”, modular learning will be incorporated to distance learning. Students need not to go to school to learn. Modules will be given instead to parents by the teachers. The objectives, topics to be learned, activities and assignments should be completed at a given time.

It is discouraged that students will undergo trainings in school. Will this mean that there is no chance for learning? Apparently not, Virtual classroom and other google classroom can be of great help for learning. Thus, parents, teachers and the school must work hand and hand to help students learn.

In this time of pandemic, learning must still take place. As we achieve learning, let us not forget the “safety first” attitude, such as social distancing, wearing of face mask and washing of hands. Discipline itself is learning. This is the new normal and we must be open for the changes, otherwise you will be left behind. Let us be one in our goal towards the development of the learners of 2020-2021. We are all in this together. The Department of Education is doing its best for our children. Let us all support DepEd’s mission and vision. In the end, no student is left behind.
