Confirmed cases in CSF now 71, active cases at 34
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO— The total number of confirmed corona virus cases here have now reached 71 cases with at least 34 active cases as of July 27 according to the City Information Office.
The city’s active cases are in at least 14 barangays. These include Alasas (one), Baliti (two), Bulaon (one), Del Pilar (three), Del Rosario (one), Dolores (two), Juliana (six), Lara (one), Maimpis (three), San Agustin (one), San Isidro (10), San Jose (one), Sto. Rosario (one) and Telabastagan (one).
Ten of the cases in San Isidro are all from inside Pilar
Village. Lockdown efforts have already been implemented in the said subdivision along with the areas and vicinities with reported cases.
Dr. Renely P. Tungol, in a social media feed, announced that the rise in the number of cases has been brought by the testing strategy of the city which aims to track, test and contain patients.
“These new cases would have increased and infected more people if we were not able to test and identify them,” Tungol said. She added that the city is highlydense in terms of population which increases the chance of cases happening.
The City of San Fernando is the main business center of Central Luzon which brings in people from different parts of the region. Tungol said that most of the cases are “imported” and despite the surge of the number of cases, the city could not declare any local transmission.
Of the 71 confirmed cases in San Fernando, 36 have already recovered while one have since died. Some of the 15 previous infections were from health facilities.
