DENR resumes operations in Pampanga as employees test negative for Covid-19
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- The provincial office of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources ( DENR) in Pampanga has officially resumed its operations on Monday, as employees who underwent swab testing bore negative results for COVID-19, environment official announced yesterday.
Laudemir Salac, chief of the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office ( PENRO) in Pampanga, said the 101 regular and contractual employees underwent the RT-PCR test from July 21 to 23 at the Jose B. Lingad Regional Hospital, the Green City Medical Hospital and
Diosdado Macapagal Memorial Hospital in Pam p an ga.
"We all breathed a sigh of relief, as swab tests yielded negative results," he said, adding that his office will continue to strictly implement health protocols and safety guidelines within its workplace.
Salac also expressed his sincere gratitude to the provincial government of Pampanga for their support and assistance.
It may be recalled that the DENR office in Pampanga suspended its operations on July 20 to 26, as one of its employees contracted the COVID19.
Salac noted that during the said period, disinfection of office premises, contact tracing and testing of employees were immediately done.
As the PENRO has resumed its operations this week, Salac assures the public of its safety, since regular disinfection procedures are done in the office.
He encouraged the public to coordinate with the PENRO using e-mail and other online media channels, specifically on procedural queries which may be facilitated online.
As this developed, face masks, protective gears and alcohols were distributed to PENRO employees, especially those working on the grounds, to assure their safety in their continued public service.
