When we are about to go to a journey, we make sure to know where we are heading. W e arrange the gears we need, plan the roads to take, and gather the people who would join us in this voyage. That makes us feel safe knowing that we are READY. Set to go to our destination unharmed because we know we are prepared. We’ve ticked everything in our checklist. And all that we are waiting for is the time for us to set off. But what if something unplanned happened on the way? What if we were not ready at all? What if we missed something from our checklist? What if not everything went according to plan? So many questions, but what if?

When we were young, we always have that BIG DREAM. I remember always praying for that dream every day, hoping that HIS will is the same as mine. Stephen Covey said, “Begin with the end in mind” and so I did. I would always relate everything I do to my end goals. If what I’m doing will lead me to my end goal, then I have to continue doing it, but if no? I have to stop. When we were in school, it was easier. People will tell me what to do in a day and I just have to follow and deliver. And I always deliver, because I know it will lead me to my goal. Read the lessons on Mondays, do some homework for Tuesdays, make a presentation on Wednesdays, review the lessons for Thursdays, make some projects on Fridays, rest on Saturdays, cram on Sundays. Everything is handed to me and I would just follow them, it was easy. So, when I was in school, I was sure that I will be living that BIG DREAM because I was doing everything I was told. I thought I was able to arranged the gears, planned the roads I would take, and gathered the people who would be with me in my journey. I guess it was easier to not think and stay away from the reality for sometimes.

And at the moment I am back, I would have to start moving again, because I will never know what lies on this path if I stop moving. For all the setbacks, wrong turns, and regrets taking responsibility and ultimately learning from it is the best response. Sometimes the unplanned trips turn out to be the best journeys. The thrill of not knowing where your heading. The people you’ll meet along the way that you never thought you need in your life. The experiences that you weren’t prepared for but will leave you with the greatest lessons in life. I am being redirected to somewhere I don’t know. It scares me a lot, but I am looking forward for that BIG DREAM, not my BIG DREAM, but HIS for me.
