Unsung Heroes of Pandemic Era

Ma. Cheyser Ann T. Tolentino

-

It has been four months now when our government implemented the Enhance Community Quarantine (ECQ). Some places are still lockdown and in quarantine state. These passing days these persons bravely stepped out in the comfort of their home to render service to people who are in need. They went out of their way to help, guide and protect people in one way or the other needed their outmost support. Whether in their physical health and mental health, basic needs or even self-protection, these persons offered help without asking anything in return. Not minding the risk, they are about to face in the service of fellow beings. W e all know how dangerous our “enemy” is our “unseen enemy” called Corona Virus Disease-19 better known as Covid-19.

Doctors, nurses, police and military personnel, government officials, teachers and vendors to name a few, who leave their family, their loved ones to serve others. These persons are called FRONTLINERS. Many of these frontliners lost their life because they bravely accepted and fulfilled their call of duty. They selflessly offer their time, their talent and even personal resources to save other people’s life. Many of these frontliners died not just because they are infected of the disease but through self-sacrifice to ensure that everyone is safe. They have sacrificed a lot for us. They rendered selfless service to all, whether you are rich or poor, young or old, girl or boy, healthy or with special need. They gave immeasurable and compassionate care and protection so that everyone can live peacefully in their own family.

These frontliners are the unsung heroes in this Pandemic Era. All they want from us is a little cooperation and understanding. They give their outmost to assist and help. What can we do to payback these people? Can we not support them in this chaotic time? Let us join our hands together to conquer this battle. Let us join our hands together to uplift the spirit of our dear frontliners. Medical personnel, policemen, soldiers, government officials have done their part. It’s time to do yours. Our Frontliners badly needed our help. We need to help them. Let us help our unsung heroes to beat COVID-19.
