Improvements for better learning
THE Department of Education has started the test broadcast of educational programs to be used for distance learning last Tuesday.
The test broadcast of DepEd TV is an opportunity for the department's Quality Assurance Teams to scrutinize the educational episodes, making sure that they are included in the Most Essential Learning Competencies, properly created, and appropriate to its viewers.
According to the DepEd, the broadcast was mainly focused on the technical aspect – recording, file conversion, ingestion, mapping, and actual broadcasting – as well as the department's capacity to broadcast education episodes for the incoming school year.
If you have seen on Facebook, the DepEd has received flak for the erroneous Grade 8 English lesson that was broadcast during the first test run of DepEd TV.
The DepEd, in a statement, admitted that there were errors in the accuracy as well as in the grammar and typography.
Now that the test run has been scrutinized and criticized, the DepEd will be able to make the corrections where necessary.
The lessons have been uploaded in the DepEd Commons where learners can doublecheck them.
Learners can watch the Kinder to Grade 12 lessons on DepEd TV, heard over the DepEd Radio, and accessed or downloaded from the DepEd Commons starting August 24.
The DepEd vowed to continue improving and preparing everything for the opening of classes may it be online, radio, TV or modular.
