Tips for Job Hunting

-

Job hunting is never easy. Especially during this time that our country’s economy took a downturn, finding a job has become extra difficult. But, this should not hinder determined applicants from searching for opportunities.

Here are some job hunting tips for fresh graduates, or even for those who are looking for new jobs.

First, take time to reflect on the kind of job you want to have. Ask yourself about your strengths and weaknesses, so you can find a job that can provide you a sense of contentment.

Second, list down the number of companies you see yourself working for. Do not limit yourself to searching opportunities online. Yes, opportunities online are limitless. Some companies do not advertise their job vacancies online. So, it would be good to find one the old-fashion way of visiting one office to another.

Third, build a comprehensive but easy-on-the-eyes resume. Of course, you want to make a good impression to the recruitment team with your resume. However, you should not overdo it. It would help to write in simple sentences and include only the most significant information about your accomplishments. An overly-cluttered resume could be heavy on the eyes.

Before you know it, your resume could be pushed back at the back of the line.

Lastly, prepare yourself for exams and interviews. You could do this by writing down responses for common interview questions, and then practicing with a mock interview with a friend. This way, you can condition yourself to job interviews, so you can be comfortable during an actual interview.

It’s tough to look for a job. So, expect the process to take long. Do not lose hope or get frustrated. Just keep looking forward until you get THAT dream job!
