Jeferson D. Karagdag
The Department of Education (DepEd) launched the opening of classes on October 05, 2020. This does not necessarily mean that traditional face-to- face classroom facilitation of learning will take place. The new normal education officers planned, designed, and implemented the different possible learning modalities which can be used in their respective areas ahead of time. There were surveys given, questionnaires, articles, webinars, and list of needs to address the delinquent problems appropriately and suitably. They carefully plan and design the new curriculum to adopt the present situation following the proper protocol on health standards from Department of Health (DOH) and the Inter- Agency Task Force (IATF), and the Office of the President (OP) recommendations were being considered in their respective areas.
The delivery and provisions of learning modalities that schools can implement maybe one or two combination subject on the Covid-19 restrictions, limitations, and the specific context, framework, background and setting of the learners in the school or locality.
There are different modalities presented such home schooling, online delivery learning, blended learning, and modular distance learning. In cooperation with the different DepEd partners, teachers were train on how to facilitate the classroom discussion virtually and the mode of learning modality depends on the result of the enrollment surveys and questionnaires from the parents and the students as to identify their own learning preferences.
The resiliency of everyone and the dedication to promote the education this school year amidst the pandemic along with the positive outlook rules matters most.
