Angeles City execs donate harvest to community kitchen

-

ANGELES CITY--Local executives have recently donated harvests from their own garden to a community kitchen that feeds Persons Under Monitoring (PUMs).

Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr.’s Chief Adviser and Tactician IC Calaguas and Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel took the city government’s "Luntian sa Barangay Lingap" project to heart, as they donated harvests from their very own backyar d.

Calaguas, who is also Clark International Airport Corporation (CIAC) Vice President for Operations, and Manuel decided to donate their harvested crops including eggplants, tomatoes and chilis to the community kitchen located at City College of Angeles (CCA), the official community quarantine facility in the city. The vegetables would be used in preparing the meals of PUMs who are currently staying there.

Aside from serving PUMs, Mayor Lazatin has established the community kitchen in CCA to also provide free meals to frontline workers from the City Health Office, Civilian Security

Unit, and Environmental Management System.

Earlier, Lazatin encouraged all Angelen~ os to practice urban gardening – by planting vegetables in their backyard, or in unused lots near their homes.
