The Challenge of Education

COVID 19 Virus has disturbed the whole world and interrupted the plans we have envisioned to fulfill. No country was spared by the pandemic. Everyone became vigilant in avoiding the virus. We were caught off guard with this crisis. Our seafarers and OFWs went home and lost their jobs. Our economy suffered but it can recover soon. Our lives became different. Wearing of face mask everywhere became the new normal. Face to face class was suspended but education must continue.

Online class, modular modality, blended learning and many more strategies of teaching became popular in public and private schools. The preferred Learning modality depends on the result of the survey given to the parents.

Education in the pandemic has made a drastic change in the lives of learners. We should not stop learning. We should not be stagnant in innovating and trying new ways in improving. As an individual, we should be concerned with growth. Being adaptive to change results to adjustments. Flexibility and creativity in accepting the new normal will be the key in moving forward.

As a part of Department of Education, we must be committed in thinking about the welfare of the learners. Equal opportunities should be given to them. Lack of access to Technology should not be a hindrance in sending our learners to school, since the acquisition of knowledge is not limited to only a single modality. Printed modules or learning materials will be distributed to them. No one will be left out. Every child must be a priority in molding their dreams to come true.

We must strive hard to be a catalyst of giving brighter future to our sons and daughters. Giving up is not an option to take away their ambitions. Inspiring them on what they want to be is a hope in building their aspirations. Let us condition our minds in helping them to reach their brightest stars.

Guiding our children on the right path is preparing them to be in the right direction of life. Let us be optimistic with education. In times like these, bickering is not the answer to solve our problems. Let us join hands in helping our children realize their potentials and achieve their goals towards a better future. We can endure all the difficulties. Filipinos have a high spirit of surpassing all the trials that may come our way.

Let us support our nation by enrolling our children to school. Since there is no face to face classes for this year, different alternative learning modality will be available for them. Education is very important to everyone. Let us give it a chance. The struggle is not the virus alone, but the challenge to overcome ignorance.

With God’s saving grace, He will keep us safe and protected. Someday everything will be back to normal and when that time comes we can proudly say that we put on a good fight and won the battle.
