Jayson G. Guzman
W ith the different Alternative Learning Modality, the Division of Angeles City is ready for the class opening without face to face meeting on October 5, 2020. Modular learning scheme was the most chosen modality in the elementary public schools. On the other hand, a combination of online and modular learning modality will be used in junior and senior public high school. A series of Trainings through webinars were given to school heads and teachers to help them adapt to the New Normal Education.
As a means to comply with the health protocol and ensure the safety of their teachers, personnel, and the community in general, school heads were tasked to purchase UV light to disinfect activity sheets and modules before distributing them to the parents or guardians of our learners. Safety protocol was being implemented by every school in Dep Ed, Angeles City through various means. Meetings were done virtually. Mandatory use of face masks and face shields was strictly implemented. Alcohols, and disinfectants were available for sanitation. Thermometer gun was used to check body temperature.
To better prepare for the upcoming opening of schools in October, all schools have presented Virtual Parents’ Orientation viewed through social media. Virtual Welcome Program before the class opening was set on October 2, 2020. Christmas vacation will begin on December 20, 2020 to January 3, 2021. The last day of class will be on June 16, 2020 based on the Regional Memos issued by the Department.
With all of these preparations at hand, it can truly be said that the department is ready for the new set up in education. The success now lies on the cooperation that will be extended by the community and the stakeholders particularly the parents to ensure the continuity of learning for their children amid this health crisis.
