OUR ROLE AS TEACHERS
We teachers does not merely stick to the role of a teacher. We adapt into various roles as and when the need arises. We become your friends when you are sad, we care for you like your parents when we you are hurt. Thus, we teachers impacts a student’s life and shapes it.
Most of our everyday are spent in the four walls of our classrooms. These walls serve as witnesses on the challenges and hardships that a teacher faces especially in dealing with more than 40 students of different personalities and attitudes. You would almost lose your gallons of patience at times because of the students’unique behaviour.
Aside from teaching and dealing with students we are also bombarded with paper works and we are also tasked to deal with different people whom sometimes misinterpret our doings. So if you think that teaching is as easy as –do –re –mi, well, better think again.
Most people underestimate the profound role that teachers play in our society. Teachers have tremendous responsibility and they have the opportunity to not only challenge their students intellectually, but they can teach them how to gear up what they have learned toward positive goal and how to use their knowledge for good.
Despite the difficulties that we face everyday, it is our prime responsibility to give our students a safe, caring, stimulating and motivating environment. This environment is one in which a child can grow emotionally, intellectually and socially. As a teacher is not only my job, but it is my hope to help students meet their fullest potentials in these areas and to have them become long-life learners. .
Teaching may not be the best paying profession, but I feel that if I will do my best, I can achieve great things. It does not matter how the salary may be. What matters most is that teaching can be an everyday adventure and it is extremely rewarding to know that you have made such an impact on someone else.
As an educator, I hope to not only prepare students to move on to the next level, but to teach them values and principles that they will carry with them for the rest of their lives.
