MY STUDENTS WHO GRADUATED SHS THREE YEARS AGO, WHERE ARE THEY NOW?

It was three years ago when the first batch of graduates successfully completed their course in Senior High School. I was the adviser of 12-Nicholas (TVL) of Angeles City Senior High School batch 2017-2018 with 21 students enrolled in this class. They were taking the following TVL courses namely: W ellness Massage, Dressmaking and Food and Beverage Services. They graduated in SHS on April of 2018 where they received High School Diploma. They also received National Certificate Level II in Food and Beverage Services after passing the National Assessment in Food and Beverage Services from TESDA. True enough, the objectives of the Department of Education to produce students who are ready for college, employment and/or putting up their business were met.

Some of my students pursued their studies in college taking up different courses related to their TVL specialization in Senior High School such as Bachelor of Technical Vocational Teacher Education and BS in Hotel Restaurant Management. W hile some are taking up courses in college which are not related in TVL, such as BS Criminology, Bachelor of Librarian and Information Science, BS in Information Technology, BS Medical Laboratory Science and Aeronautical Courses. One-third of my students were employed in Call Centers, Food Industries, and Furniture Making industry. Some also put up a small food business in front of their house.

As their teacher I am thankful and proud of them, that whichever path they chose, I can say that they are ready to face all the challenges in real life situations.

To my former students in 12-Nicholas (TVL) and to all students, remember a Bible Verse in Joshua 1:9 which says, “Be strong and of good courage Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be you dismayed: for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.” God bless you.
