TEACHING AS A PROFESSION

Dr. Princess Maylene M. Maniacop

Psychologist has established four styles of thinking which contribute to anger

1.Emotional thinking- People who are mentally misinterpreting normal activities and things other people are doing as direct threats to their objective of need.

2.Low Tolerance to Frustration. Some of the time, stress-related anxiety decreases our anger level and we start perceiving everyday events as threats to our well-being or our ego.

3.Unreasonable foresight. You see things as if they will be, as people make demands, and not as what they are.

4.Person ratings. A kind of thought that triggers rage where the individual applies a negative label to someone else. Internal anger comes from distorted conceptions of truth.

Ways on How to Manage Anger

1.Hear the point of view of the other teachers, and seek to position yourself in their spot. Avoid being too defensive.

2.Use short responses, then let them process some information before answering.

3.When in a state of rage and the teacher feels they're in the right position, just listen. It is not the most difficult moment.

4.Recognize that you understand how they feel (but that doesn't automatically mean you agree).

5.Encourage truth reporting rather than venting out of frustration.

6.Redirect teacher's thoughts about future approaches

7.Seek to understand what needs they strive to fulfill.

Apply some coping statements to help manage anger.

1.Recognize, understand, and accept that you have a problem.

2.Determine what triggers your rage, so you can find out the best solution possible.

3.Use a soft tone, show empathy, use their name, and speak with honesty and calmness. 4.Review the situation. Relax and unwind. Don't let emotions bother you. Personally don't take it. Talk softly, yet steadily. Hear what others have to say. Allow them the opportunity to talk. 5.Regulation and concentration, losing patience would only make things worse.

Teaching is by and enormous a graduate profession and it'll be much easier for you to search out work if you've got a degree and have completed a coach training course. However, some sorts of schools are allowed to use teaching staff who don't seem to be formally qualified, so in theory it's possible to induce into the profession without visiting university – though the chances are significantly against it. Getting a degree doesn’t must mean three years at university. you may take a course, or a series of courses, that are structured so you'll study for your degree while working and earning, perhaps over a extended period of time. If you wish to figure in education during a non-teaching role there's a variety of jobs to think about that are receptive non-graduates, like teaching assistant roles. There also are opportunities for both graduates and non-graduates to figure with children and youth in settings like nurseries, after-school and holiday clubs and crèches.
