New Normal Learners in the Elementary

Students are usually excited to enter the school during the first day of classes. They can’t wait to bring their new school bags and kits and meet their new teacher and classmates. They are waiting for the activities to be given to them like introducing themselves in class, writing about their good and bad experiences during vacation and their expectations for the whole year.

These cannot longer happen in the new normal system. Face to face learning is not recommended because of the pandemic. Students will now study at home with the guidance of parents or guardians. Other learning modalities like online, modular and blended learning can be used to continue their studies.

In online learning, students can meet the teacher and their classmates via messenger, google meet, zoom etc. to discuss the lessons and other tasks they need to do. In modular, they will be given set of modules and activity sheets following the day schedule of the learning areas. In blended learning, the teacher can combine all the learning modalities where the students can easily take the lessons and accomplish all the activities in a given time.

This is now the new normal system of our learners in the elementary. They need to adopt and accept the changes in the education system in order for them to continue learning and achieve their dreams in the future.
