Mi Cocina PH’s Ube Cheese Pandesal and More Yummy-filled goodies
IBut, Mi Cocina PH’s ube pandesal has cheese, too. Yes, you get two flavors in one bread - ube and cheese! And if you’re into chocolate, they have it, too.
Mi Cocina PH started from the humble abode of the Vitugs in the City of San Fernando. Siblings Darlene, Paulene, Sherlene and Ivan were fond of baking, so they spent most of their time during the lockdown in the province to make their own favorite goodies from pizza, Spanish breads, cupcakes, crinkles, and cinnamon rolls. Later, their mom Edna, requested for pandesal.
“Since the recipe's yield is too much for the family to consume, we got used to giving some to our neighbors that later on gave us some feedback and suggested that our pandesal is worth selling. That gave us the idea to consider [starting a business],” Paulene, the recipe maker and main baker, shar ed.
Her sibling Sherlene served as her assistant in trying out recipes, Ivan was the oven operator and taste tester, while Darlene made the crinkles.
The ube cheese pandesal and crinkles were their first creation to sell.
“We added a twist with the regular pandesal and turned it into a cheese bread, instead of the usual pandesal,” Paulene shar ed.
Since their customers loved their products, the siblings continued to create new products.
Mi Cocina PH has eight products on their menu including ube cheese bread, chocolate crinkles, cinnamon rolls, ube bites, chocodesal, chocobutternut crinkles, s’mores cookies, and revel bars.
Soon, Mi Cocina PH plans to offer cakes and cupcakes. They are also considering to offer some savory products in the future.
“All the products that we release are all our personal favorites.
We have a number of products that we have tried but without my siblings' approval, it wouldn't be in the market. Our products were also approved by the meticulous tastebuds of our parents,” Darlene shar ed.
“We guarantee that Mi Cocina's products are all made with quality ingredients. I personally shop and make sure that all ingredients are the highest quality, we do not change brands for cheaper prices, and lastly, we always make sure that our products are made with love,” she added.
