We can make it

We are all oblivion to the coming of the unwanted visitor this year. No one is prepared with this kind of virus, we did not foresee that it’s coming, in just a blink of an eye, it entered in our home without permission.

What is happening to us right now is really mind-boggling and there are so many questions that we want to ask especially regarding the education this school year 2020-2021 due to the covid-19 outbreak.

Many are puzzled how we could cater all the students in online classes if in the first place, most of the students neither have cellular phones nor internet connection. They keep on shouting “academic freeze”. They want the education to continue when the vaccine is available or the pandemic is over. But learning must not stop.

Fret not because the Department of Education is doing its best in finding ways to reach every child. Different learning delivery modalities were introduced. One of these is the Modular Distance Learning where the students are not required to have gadgets or wifi connection. Modules will be distributed by the teachers to be answered by the students with the guidance of the parents/guardians and their subject teachers. The students may freely ask assistance from their teachers via email, text, chat and the like. Inclusive of the said modules are the lessons and activities in each subject. The teacher in this modality of learning still takes the responsibility of monitoring the progress of each and every learner.

The DepEd is very aware that this school year will not be as easy as A,B, C or 1, 2,3 but it assures that no one will still be left behind even this time of pandemic.
