Politics is an art or the science of Government. It is an exercising of power or duties by persons elected by the people as mandated in constitution of one’s country. The elected people who are called politicians have the authority to make decisions for in behalf of their constituents. It should benefit not only the few but all. Politics is created to promote freedom and equality of humanity because it is rooted in the norms of natural and divine precepts. Thus, dirty politics is a way of thinking or living to those officials or people who are not executing their leadership according to their correct conscience. Its effect might make or break people or the country at large.

In the field of educational system, there is a correlation between the magnitude of implementation to the intensity of intervention or supports of the Government in a particular place headed by the elected officials. Their total support in the Department of Education will be tested in challenges such as man-made or natural phenomenon. During this time of pandemic, political interventions should not be based on the “color” of their parties so that their support will be genuine service.

As I observed as a simple teacher/citizen, I can see that politicians in general are trying their best in bridging the gap of education in this trying time. I am hoping that their Special Education Fund will be properly utilized and maximized to those schools whom really need their assistance. When these things are properly sourced out Learning Delivery Modalities will be implemented and evaluated suited to the needs of the learners. Tele and radio eskwela are products of the collaboration between the Local Government Unit and the Department of Education which brings the classrooms to the respective homes of our learners. Accessibility of the education is quite easy and possible. The elected officials should closely monitor their constituents and ask them how could they help in pursuing education amidst pandemic. In this manner, there will be a driving force among them to value education against COVID-19 and ignorance. The intervention will lead to a win-win situation and harmonious relationships among others.

Raising the banners of education and for aiming excellence are composed of supportive government, compliant educators and participative people. We should always remember that we heal as one and I am because we a one in pursuing “Edukalidad”
