Fedimyr O. Morales
In the conventional delivery system for education, interface between the teacher and student has been viewed as an essential learning element. Earlier, teachers played the role of knowledge providers, but presently their role has expanded. In which, teachers can now use several educational technologies, along with the traditional classroom setup, to enhance the learning environment for the students. As mentioned by Hwang, Lai, and Wang in an online publishing on 2015 in the Journal of Computers in Education, there is a lot of emphasis on integrating technology in the classroom through innovative teaching strategies that focus on enabling students to attain the desired learning objectives.
This recommends that technology-based instruction plays an essential role in education as it provides various resources which can be utilized in designing the lessons and activities. Accordingly, education has grown rapidly and stimulated the adoption of e-learning, which is a direct result of the integration of education and technology and is contemplated to be a powerful medium for learning. Considering e-learning, as an educator in public school systems continue to seek innovative practices for closing achievement gaps, increasing collaboration and critical thinking, and incorporating 21st century literacy. This reflects to one of the aims of Sapang Bato National High School to provide technical skills that would enhance the teaching-learning process and meet the challenges of this century.
Whereas, the school itself becomes the first light house school for G Suite for Education (GSFE), formerly known as Google Apps for Education (GAFE), in Pampanga that provides innovation as an e-learning platform in delivery of instructions accessible from any gadget with a web browser. The above-mentioned learning platform has been implemented within the school in recent years and, where local studies showed that it contributes to making the learning and communication process between students and the teaching staff more efficient.
