“On Solid Ground”

Philosophy literally means the “Love of wisdom.” To understand learners is “To be in their shoes.” I have been studying since I was a student. And even now as a teacher, I am still learning unceasingly. All these years of being educated, trained and inspired, shaped me as the individual I am right now. My home and the different schools where I have been transformed my entire being. The many years of being a teacher enabled me to have countless experiences both humbling and encouraging.

Learners have different types and levels of comprehension and interpretation. It is not a simple task for the faint of hearts. Therefore it falls on the teacher to go down on the level of the learners. Believe me when I say that it is easier said than done. I have the responsibility of building in them confidence to pursue a lifelong and worthwhile goal in life. A child has the right to quality education; hence I have the duty to teach them no less than the best. Every student deserves the best that education has to offer. Hence scholarship grants, state-of the-art facilities, high tech equipment, gadgets and the like entitle any learner. Anything that will assist him or her to have the best learning experience should be granted to him or her without reservation.

Any learner must be kept safe, protected and loved by the school and by the teachers. This means that learners should see and feel an atmosphere where they are cared for and accepted for who they are. As an educator, I am but compelled in creating a positive impact in the life of my learners. It is an ironclad commitment that I have as a servant of education, of which I am please and privilege to have. For that, I give God the glory.
