GUIDE ON THE USE OF DEPED COMMONS

DepEd Commons is an online learning platform developed by the education department for students who are forced to stay at home. Students and teachers can access DepEd Commons access to the site using the Globe/ TM, Smart/ Sun/ TnT network free of charge.

It contains online review materials and Open Educationa­l Resources (OER) created by public school teachers who are experts in their respective subject matters. And with its flexibilit­y, teachers can retain, reuse, revise, remix, and redistribu­te the content depending on what suits their students best.

In order to access the portal, teachers or students need the following steps: open an Internet browser and on the address bar, type in the DepEd Commons URL: commons.deped.gov.ph then press Enter, select your school type (Private or Public), then input either your School ID or School Name on the space just below your selected school type, click the button if you are a Student or a Teacher then Input your full name and Email Address. Next, select the grade level you wish to explore. Once you have selected your Grade Level, click on the Subject to drill down your resource need. When you click on the subject/ category, the available resources are displayed on the main area of the screen. To view and download the resource, Click on the (Go to Link) if the resource displays as a link.

The platform also integrates the Globe e-Library, an online platform which features e-books ranging from children’s storybooks and students’textbooks on core subjects such as Math, Science, English, Filipino, Music, Arts, among others.
