DTI 3 assists consumers, micro entreps cope up with new normal
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region III has been assisting consumers and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in coping up with the new normal.
DTI Regional Information Officer Warren Patrick Serrano said the celebration of Consumer Welfare Month this October is anchored on the theme SustainableConsumer is the New Normal” featuring digital contests and webinars.
Digital contests include animated short film and eComics that seek to harness the creativity and artistry of students.
Moreover, the DTI regional and provincial offices hold webinars focused on topics such as Suggested Retail Prices, Consumer Complaints Handling, Data Privacy and Security in Cyberspace and Consumer Redress Mechanisms.
“There will also be awarding of DTI Certified Establishments or Bagwis Awards to recognize establishments faithfully following consumer laws and supporting consumer rights,”he added.
Meanwhile, Diskwento Caravan continues where consumers can avail basic necessities and prime commoditiesat discounted prices. In some cases, MSMEs also sell their products in these
fairs.
“DTI has assisted MSMEs in exploring their products displayed at eshopping companies such as Lazada, Shopee and Zalora,” Serrano furthered.
And lastly, the annual Likha ng Central Luzon Trade Fair still continued this year but in a digital platform fromOctober 1317. Products of about 100 MSMEs were viewed and sold.
