PRO 3 chief no regrets losing men under localization program
ANGELES CITY -Brigadier General Valeriano De Leon, director of the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO 3) said he has no regrets losing his men to other police units outside Central Luzon under the localization program of the Philippine National Police PNP.
De Leon expressed concerns over the welfare and morale of policemen to be assigned in places where their families are situated especially during the pandemic.
"We find [localization] it very relevant as we all know that our policemen attention are divided especially those assigned in the fields. Our policemen think of their families far away from his assignment while they are performing their duties," said De Leon during an interview on the sideline of his Command
Visit leg.
He said localization is a way of boosting the morale of the police force especially during this pandemic.
However, those who were transferred to their hometown cannot visit their families until they have completed the quarantine period.
"We have to protect our policemen and their families to keep them healthy and fit to work,"
De Leon pointed out.
For the longest time, De Leon said this have been sincerely implemented and welcomed by policemen specifically the non-commissioned police officers ( NCPO) .
The localization program is long overdue after most of our policemen clamor for their reassignments in places where their families stay.
"Honestly...PRO3 lost 355 policemen but we only gained 85, we have a deficit of 270 policemen. But we don't see this as a problem as localization is a continuing project of the Philippine National Police (PNP) under General Camilo Pancratius Pascua Cascolan," De Leon explained.
During his visit at Camp Tomas Pepito, the home of the Angeles City Police Office (ACPO), De
Leon also led the inauguration of the Bachelors Officers Quarters (BOQ) which was constructed through the initiative of PATROL Partylist Representative Jorge A. Bust os.
Law yer Abner Zamora, chief of staff of PATROL Partylist represented Bustos.
The timely completion of the building is a manifesto of support
