DoTr: 33 airports allowed for commercial flights

CLARK FREEPORT --- The Department of Transporta­tion (DoTr) has announced that 33 airports in the country are now allowed to resume commercial flights.

The agency stated that the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippine­s (CAAP) released the list of internatio­nal and domestic airports given permission by local government units to proceed with commercial operation.

"As of October 26, 2020, there are 33 airports in the country whose local government units (LGUs) have issued orders categorica­lly supporting the resumption of commercial airport operation in their areas of jurisdicti­on," the CAAP stated.

However, some airports are subject different documentar­y and passenger restrictio­ns by the concerned LGUs.

Internatio­nal airports with clearance to resume commercial flights include Clark, Ninoy Aquino (Manila), Iloilo, Davao, Bohol, Kalibo, Cebu, and Zamboanga.

The other domestic airports with permits are Antique, Bacolod, Basco, Busuanga, Butuan, Calbayog, Caticlan,

Cauayan, Cotabato, Dipolog, General Santos, Jolo, Laguindiga­n, Legasp i , Marinduque, Masbate, Naga, Ormoc, Ozamiz, Pagadian, Palanan, Romblon, San Jose, Tacl oban and Virac.Internatio­nal airport still not allowed to operate include Puerto Princesa Internatio­nal Airport and Laoag Internatio­nal Airport.

Local airports not allowed to resume commercial flight are Borongan, Camiguin, Catarman, Catbalogan, Dumaguete, Guiuan, Hilongos, Maasin, Roxas, Tuguegarao, San Vicente, Sanga-Sanga, Siargao and Surigao.
