An Act of Kindness

-

To be kind is not to be greedy. I saw a video showing different act of kindness done by a man. In the video, the man gave most of his belongings to different persons but gets no money in return. Instead he received negative comments from different persons. He placed the withering plant where water was pouring and the plant grew tall in a few days. He gave a stray dog half of his chicken bone every time he eats, and it resulted to the dog following him and he was treated as a friend to the dog. He help the seller push his cart in the times the wheels of the cart is stuck, and he sometimes gets free lunch of what he is doing. Lastly, he gave most of his money to the poor mother and child who were asking for some money and after few months the child is now going to school.

Being kind doesn’t mean you will have a material object that is given back. If you have a kind heart, you don’t need material objects. Giving without expecting something in return is a great fulfillment and rewarding. It gives you peace of mind when you are receiving smiles and thank you as acts of appreciations from the persons whom you gave your kindness.

Even though material things is not given to you, just doing the act of kindness makes you feel better because it gives you positive energy and it erases all of the negative energy.

Reaching out a hand to a person in need is one act of kindness. When someone needs something whether material or not, helping him in any form will give that person the comfort and a peace in his heart.

Listening to someone who needs an ear is another act of kindness. By just merely sitting beside this person and listening to whatever problems he may share will give him the solutions needed to his problems.

A simple tap on a shoulder will result to an overwhelming encouragement to a person who needs it. Let us always remember the “Golden Rule”. Treat others the way you would like to be treated. And on a positive aspect,do unto others what you want others to do unto you.
