Seven years ago, Bill Gates decided to start a tradition that benefits everyone with a passion for knowledge and reading good books. Since then, the founder of Microsoft Corporation annually shares two lists of his selected and favorite works of non-fiction and fiction: A summer reading list and a winter reading list. Gates is a really passionate reader. He reads 50 books per year, finishing each book he starts as one of his rules. Sometimes, he would spend more time reading a book he disagrees with because it would take him more time to annotate his comments on the margin. In his personal blog, Gates Notes, he shares his book reviews and all related to the benefits of reading. Susan Fourtane (2019). Reading can inform you, improve your health and change your life in general.

In the world today where information is easily accessed, one of the best ways to be informed is by reading a book. I find it important because it gives us endless knowledge and lessons and enables our minds to be active. In addition, reading books help us learn and understand in order for us to be smarter not to mention the knowledge and skills we can develop.

Furthermore, researcher from Stanford University (2015) found that as a person reads for pleasure it can to improve the blood circulation in the brain areas. In short reading is like a brain exercise that it can help in so many ways that it can make the brain function well. Reading books is also a way to relax and reduce stress. It is important to read a good book at least for a few minutes each day to stretch the brain muscles for healthy functioning.

Moreover, reading helps you develop positive thinking, improve your mind and give you excessive knowledge and lessons of life. It helps you understand the world around you better; keeps your mind active and enhances your creative ability.

Thus to conclude, reading can change your life in the different ways. Sometimes, the result can exceed all your expectations. It can change your life in the better way and because of it can make you wittier, healthier and make your life substantial. “A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies. The man who never reads live only one” Quotesta, Let’s start and try to live a numerous life.
