FRET NO MORE
Kristel C. Guanzon
Parents are in a haste. Midst the crisis they are thinking of budgets for internet and laptops for their children. Well, fret no more, learning is in the form of now is through modules. It is an individualized instruction that allows learners to use selflearning modules (SLMs) in print or digital format/electronic copy, whichever is applicable in the context of the learner and other learning resources like Learner’s Materials, textbooks, activity sheets, study guides and other study materials.
On this type of learning there's NO NEED for Tablets/Smartphone. This will limit the exposure of the child on gadgets too. MODULAR LEARNING means devoting TIME and effort to your child's studies. Parents will serve as guides for children in answering their self learning kits. It can be a sort of bonding for parents and children on the positive side.
Children going to school is a lot different to the new normal in education at present. A lot of learning occur in school beacause of the interactions of our kids with the other kids. But the situation calls for us PARENTS, WE need to DECIDE WISELY for our kids.
We have OPTIONS. We have various options. While some parents opt to stop the education of their children for a year because of the crisis I pray that you think twice. Don't let a year pass with no learning. We have modular learning as a choice. It may seem hard for us parents but let's be positive and motivated. We'll get through the school year with flying colors, if only we work together. Remember parents, teachers and the school are your partners. NO PANDEMIC CAN DENY THIS FACT.
