Cop in hot water for alleged rape

OLIVAS, Pampanga – A police officer is in hot water after allegedly raping a 24-female inside the barracks.

Brig. Gen. Valeriano De Leon, Police Regional Office III (PRO3) director, has ordered the immediate relief from his post, Lt. Jimmy Fegcan, a member of the San Miguel Police Station in Bulacan.

The female was arrested for violation of Provincial Ordinance 872020 (curfew), said De Leon.

The victim accused the suspect of allegedly raping her dawn of October 28, 2020 inside the barracks of the police officer, he said.

“I ordered his immediate relief pending the investigat­ion being conducted. We will not condone this misdemeano­r and appropriat­e charges will be filed against him, both administra­tive and criminal, if warranted,” De Leon said.

Disciplini­ng and dismissing erring police personnel show efforts of the PNP in removing bad eggs in the police force in line with CPNP Gen. Camilo Cascolan’s “Pulis Ko'y Respetado, Responsble at Disiplinad­o” program and that the rule of law does not distinguis­h rank, position or popularity whether victim or respondent in the PNP organizati­on, De Leon st r essed .

“This is a clear manifestat­ion of our keen determinat­ion to remove misfits among the ranks of our organizati­on”, he added.

The suspect is temporaril­y detained at the San Miguel police station while awaiting for inquest proceeding­s for allegedly violating Republic Act No.8353 or Anti- Rape Law, he sai d.(RicSapnu)
