On Air – Standby! Ready! Action!

“No one is perfect – that’s why pencils have erasers” – this is from an unknown author who never fails to think that there is no such thing as a perfect person or a perfect organization. Our teacher broadcasters as well as DepEd were blamed of the errors that were viewed by the netizens during their premier. Are they to be humiliated, and criticized? Let’s try to understand the back story.
Let’s start it by scrutinizing the details first, quality assurance was not put into consideration this is according to DepEd Undersecretary Alain Del Pascua he said that the test run focuses more on the technical aspects of broadcasting, from recording, file conversion, ingestion, mapping, to actual broadcasting. He admitted that there are typographical errors in some episodes but this may improve in the long run since piloting something like this is not an easy thing to do. In addition to this, because of the negative comments that the organization received and they were tagged to have a sloppy job he promised that this is a big thing to consider for improvements.
Next, Educators were obliged to do the job without proper training. Teachers are facing live audience everyday but not in front of the camera. They were turned into instant celebrities as the need arises. In fact, they are trying their very best to be as effective and efficient but this effort is not enough to meet the standards of the netizens.
Finally, fatigue is one of the underlying causes of this, doing things in a short period of time make things even worse. We don’t know what happened
All in all, let’s be emphatic! We have to put ourselves on their situation before we critique their efforts because to achieve greatness everybody must understand the journey be it good or bad which I think these can make us better as we go along. Perfection is not done overnight it is a product of hard work and patience. Let me leave you with this famous quotation by Vincent Van Gogh which states that “I am always doing what I cannot do yet, In order to learn how to do it.”
