LET’S CLEAR THINGS OUT

This school year posed two contradicting argument among teachers. Some insist that a year of no classes won’t do any harm as long as everyone is safe from COVID 19. On the point view of DepEd, the pandemic should not stop us from learning. This two opposing opinions gave birth to a lot of issues in education.

Let us try to analyze the difference between the “fears” and “complaints” of the people.

Teachers are tested on their ability to combat hardships and perform difficult task for the nation. Let me not enumerate all of that. On the issue of opening of classes this school year, the fear of infecting each other surfaced on the hearts and minds of everyone.

The modality modular learning has been the solution of the department to address the learning situation. Teachers make modules that will be distributed to the children. This will pose a great danger on the personal and physical health of the teachers. Is the department really ready for this? Will hazard pay be provided for teachers? What agency of the government will be ready to assist and lend help for teachers just incase their life will be compromised? Will there be free medicine, food, moral and financial support for teachers?

This is probably the reason why teachers are in doubts. Fear of their life and their family

provokes them to voice out their opinions. It’s not complaining. They would just like to assure themselves that the government is also ready to address their welfare.

Let me clear things out. This writing was not meant to complain. This was written with the desire to weigh things out. Praying that God will guide us to the right choice for the welfare of everyone specially for the children of our nation.
