Teachers’ Career Development in the New Normal of Education
Ruth C. Pablo
Effective teaching is not an accident. Although some teachers are gifted more instinctively than others, all good teaching is the product of research, thought, practice, and hard work. The teacher can never realize enough about how the student learns, what hinders the student's learning, and how the teacher's instruction can enhance the student's learning. Professional development is the only way for teachers to gain such a real understanding.
School leaders need to develop through research, reflection, practice, and hard work. Their training not only promotes the learning of teachers but also of learners. Once administrators know how to involve teachers, help staff and students in meaningful learning, school becomes a learning hub for both adults and students.
In the new normal of education, professional learning is an on-going online platform for educators to strive to strengthen their expertise and expertise so that they can help students accomplish their goals. Students learn better as they learn. Anyone worried about the future of their students would want to encourage a period of continual career development for educators.
All have a role to play in ensuring that educators can engage in successful career growth. Parents and residents must demand and encourage comprehensive, high-quality professional learning that leads to better instruction, stronger school leadership, and higher student success.
School divisions must have strategies that make it clear that the purpose of career development is to improve the learning of both educators and their students must keep teachers responsible for achieving outcomes.
School system administrators must promote and help each school to take responsibility for career advancement and provide time and encouragement for educators to practice what they need to know to solve the learning challenges of students. Educators who plan and promote career learning must understand the challenge in satisfying the needs of students to learn. Finally, during their careers, teachers and administrators must conscientiously participate in professional development to acquire expertise and skills to increase student success.
