Pampanga Covid cases breach 4,000 mark

SAN TA ANA— Pampanga confirmed coronaviru­s (Covid 19) cases have now reached a total of 4,262 cases according to a Nov. 4 bulletin of the Provincial Government of Pampanga.

The still growing number of cases had also brought an increase in the number of deaths to 185 cases. On Nov. 4 alone, some 57 new cases were reported all throughout the province.

On Nov. 3, the Department of Health said that Pampanga topped the rank of the most number of cases among provinces in the country with 154 cases. Some 61 cases came from the City of San Fernando alone which brings to question the city’s implementa­tion of infection control measures.

The Nov. 4 bulletin said that of the 4,262 cases, some 750 are considered active cases while 3,327 have already recover ed.

Most of the confirmed and active cases are in Pampanga’s three major cities. Angeles City tops the list of most number of confirmed cases at 1,104 with 192 active, 853 recoveries and 58 deaths.

The City of San Fernando is a close secondwith­797cases, 242 active, 530 recoveries and 25 deaths. Mabalacat City has 537 confirmed cases, 76 active, 455 recoveries and six deaths.

Among the Pampanga towns, Guagua has the most number of confirmed cases at 286 with 35 as active cases. Guagua also has the most number of recorded deaths at 17 cases as of press time.

Porac town currently has 187 confirmed cases, 33 active and ten deaths. Mexico town ranks third among municipali­ties with the most number of confirmed cases at 175 with at least 22 active cases and four recorded deaths.

The number of active cases are mostly confined to Pampanga’s (in order of number of cases) first, second and thirddistr­icts, while Pampanga’s fourthdist­rict has the least number of active cases in the past two weeks.
