SUCCESSFUL LEADERSHIP

Hellen Keller stated that, "The only thing worse than being blind is having sight but no vision." It is indeed vital for everyone to use the vision that God has entrusted us to fulfill: to enable us to become functional individuals and for us to achieve our aims in life---0therwise, we will not be able to become a successful leader of leaders if we don't know how to use and develop our God-given vision. This vision will surely lead us to success not only in our personal life but also in our ministry endowed by the almighty God.

In line with this, the reason perhaps why we have Pastors and Primary leaders in Church because they can really help us to develop, to grow, and to bring out the fullest potentials in us. These leaders were truly sent by God as an instrument in order for us to be equipped and knowledgeable enough concerning the vision.

Desire is the starting point of all achievement. If we dream to become a leader we must have a keen pulsating desire to achieve it. Being a leader is not an easy job, we must prepare ourselves to great responsibility that we may experience in our Christian journey. Whether we like it or not, we will experience ups and downs in our ministry: in disciplining, preserving, and equipping people. But with the guidance of our God and the Holy Spirit, we could be able to help our fellow believers to become the best version of them and to reach their optimum development as an individual.

As a leader, we are not only attending the services in our church or so called SIMBABUWE which means “SIMBA and UWE.” But rather to grow in our ministry and to have fruits or members that can be preserved. We are created by God to accomplish our great commission or our purpose in life, to win souls and make disciples. In Matthew 28:18-20 says, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore, go and make disciple of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” This simply means that God gave us the authority to accomplish our vision and purpose in this world.

A successful leader would not be possible without a Godly character. Every leader should possess a character that is parallel to the character of God. For instance, the main reason why members tend to follow their leaders because of the characters they have observed from theirs. However, it takes a lot of time, efforts and works before we fulfill a Godly and righteous character. “Character is somehow related to attitude.” If we have a right attitude in all aspects of our life, we can say that we have a good character. Every one of us should possess a proper attitude so that we can influence others to do good things. A successful leader must always have a positive outlook in life. Through this, we can easily defeat negative thoughts such as fear, stress, and discouragement that we may experience in our ministry. More so, the best weapon to pull down these strongholds and arguments in our minds is the word of God.

In the ministry, success determines how deep and how strong our relationship with God is. The more we pray, the more we read and meditate God’s word and apply it, the more we have the courage to pursue our desires because God says “He is our Strength.” Disney said and I quote “All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.” The God that we serve is alive and faithful. He is faithful to finish what He has started.

We are wonderfully and fearfully made by God. We are called and chosen to become a successful leader of leaders: a servant leader who is born to make an impact to people’s lives, a leader who is an agent or catalyst of change, a leader who is destined to be successful and victorious one, and a leader who does not need to be ashamed through the word of truth and passionately enough to do good works.

I thought that I can never be a leader because I was never competent. But through this vision that God has entrusted me; I was able to be equipped and established as a successful leader. I can say that leaders are truly called, chosen, and made by God to accomplish His great and mighty works to the lives of His children---“all glory and honor belongs to God alone!”

There is no elevator to success; we must take the LADDER OF SUCCESS for us to achieve the SUCCESSFUL LEADERSHIP.
